Church Preen Primary School lies in between Much Wenlock and Church Stretton and serves a widely-spread rural community (see map). We are fortunate to be surrounded by the very lovely south Shropshire countryside which contains many fascinating historical and geographical points of interest; excellent starting points for lively topic work.
Very high SATs
All children recognised for achieving their potential
Sporting Trophies
We are small enough to nurture each individual and to boost self esteem. EVERYONE IS GOOD AT SOMETHING!
Ofsted said "the contribution that pupils make to the school and the wider community is outstanding."
We make the most of what we have at school and utilise the local area in our learning (Wenlock Edge, Church Preen Manor etc)
We are always looking at creative and innovative ways of enhancing and enriching everyone's experience of Church Preen Primary School.
Respect for other people and their beliefs (We network with a large urban multi-cultural community school.)
Respect for our environment, local and global.
Achievements Self esteem Partners in the Community Innovative Respect Equality
We work tirelessly to make sure that everyone has full access to all areas of learning and school life. We fully recognise everyone as an individual with individual needs.
Rated by Ofsted, we mix old ‘Preen’ traditions with the latest technology boasting an interactive whiteboard in each classroom and suites of new computers. There are currently around 70 pupils on roll split between three classes - just small enough to get to know every child well, but large enough to have a good rugby team!
Children arrive by bus or car, some sharing lifts; the School’s Travel Plan seeks to promote sustainable initiatives. Besides obtaining a national Travel Award, the school has also been awarded ‘Schools for Health’ status and also the ‘Activemark’ in recognition of its participation in many sporting activities.
The school is also very proud of achieving both the 'International Eco - Schoo Award', 'International Schools Award (intermediate) and the 'ARTSMARK-GOLD' status.
Many children enjoy after-school clubs. We encourage all children to have a go at a variety of activities - thus promoting lifelong interests and hobbies.
