Activemark

The school has been awarded the Activemark annually since 2006 in recognition of the wide range of sports - both in and out of school - which the children participate in.

We continue to encourage each child to become involved in sporting activities.

Details are available on the Teachernet website.

Schools Travel Award

By developing a travel plan, a school is showing a commitment to a safer, cleaner and more attractive school environment.

Eco-Schools

In the summer term of 2008 the children elected an eco-committee who began to audit the use of energy and resources within school. The older children linked this study with their work on global envirommental issues. This has resulted in a considerable amount of recycling and an increased awareness of the careful use of resources.

In 2010 the school gained the GREEN FLAG award from the National Eco-Schools committee for continued excellence in improving the enviornmental performance of the school and wider community.

Food for Life

As a result of the great work carried out by our gardening club, eco-committee and indeed everyone at the school we have been awarded the Bronze Food for Life Award.  It recognises the efforts being made by the school to improve sustainabilty of our eating habits and the impact this has on our well being and on the environment.

Schools for Health

The government aims for every school to attain this award by 2010. Church Preen School with its tradition of sporting achievements and its interest in healthy eating, e.g. growing vegetables, qualified for the award in 2006. Other areas of the award are concerned with pupils' emotional development and their awareness of how to behave in society.

The school continues to prioritise a healthy lifestyle, including the encouragement of healthy snacks such as fruit
